Not at all! Most of our clients start with little to no gym experience. Our coaching is designed to meet you exactly where you are - whether that's your first-ever workout or getting back into routine.

You won’t be left guessing what to do. Every session is guided, so you always know what’s happening and why.
What is the Start Strong Intro Session?
Think of this as your first step with us.
It’s a 1-on-1 session where we:

No pressure to sign up after — it’s simply a chance to experience our coaching before deciding if we’re the right fit.
What happens after the Intro Session?
If we’re a good fit, we’ll recommend a training path based on your goals.
If not, you will leave with clarity on what to do next.
It's a win-win situation for all; and you're always welcome to come back when you are ready.

What makes Backyard different from a normal gym?
We’re a hybrid space — part open gym for the seasoned gym rats, part semi-private coaching-based training environment.

What does training look like & Do I have to train alone?
When you’re on a training plan with us, you’ll never be left wandering the gym wondering what to do — we’ve got you.
Every session is guided, whether you’re in a coached group or working more closely 1-on-1. We help with form, push you when needed, and keep you on track.
Not a fan of going solo? Bring a friend or two and jump into our buddy training — same coaching, just with your favourite people by your side.
What happens during the training session?
Each session includes:

Schedule & Commitment
How often should I train?
Most clients train 2–3 times per week for best results.
We’ll recommend what works for you based on your goals and schedule.

P.S. our personal training packages come with open gym access too, just sayin'.
How long is each session?
Sessions typically run for 60 minutes.
That's less than the average time you spend in traffic to & from work.
Why not spend it working on yourself & with a supportive community?
What if I have a busy schedule?
Many of our clients juggle work & life commitments.
We're here to help you find a realistic & sustainable schedule that suits your needs.

Do I have to commit long-term?
No long-term contracts here.
You choose how long or short you want to commit.

How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on your chosen coaching style and frequency.
We’ll walk you through all the options after your Start Strong Intro Session so you can pick what fits you best.

Can I pay monthly?
Yes!
We do have payment options for monthly payment plans. Just let our staff know that you would like this option.

Monthly payment is only available for Open Access ( 6 months & 1 year), Personal & Buddy Training packages & Class Passes.
Is there a trial session option?
Yes! We have the Start Strong Intro Session where you will be allowed to decide if our coaching style is a good fit for you.
If you decide to start training with us, Start Strong Intro Session fee will be credited to your training package fee.
Results & Expectations
How long before I see results?
Most clients start noticing changes in strength & energy within 4–6 weeks.
Visible physical changes typically follow when you stay consistent for 3 months & above.
Can you help me lose weight or gain muscle?
Yes, that is what we're here for! We tailor programs to suit your goals, whether it's fat loss, strength or muscle gains.
Do you provide nutritional guidance?
Yes, as part of your training programme your coach will give you simple & practical guidance to support your training.
No extreme diets & gimmicks! Just tried & true advice.

What's the vibe like? Will I be judged?
Safe space, with a tinge of chaos (the fun kind!).

Is it crowded?
We closely monitor the number of people on the gym floor. At Backyard, priority is given to those who are on training programs & group class.
